The Summit will be taking place at the University Center Conference Center Chicago, which is located in the heart of Downtown Chicago, at State Street and Congress Parkway. Cabs are continually on call if you have to get back to the office quickly. Parking is nearby, abundant and inexpensive.

The closest CTA stop is the Library/Van Buren Stop on the Orange and Brown Lines. University Center is one block South on State Street. The Red Line stop is at the corner of Harrison and State which is across the street from the building.
From the Southwest (I-55 Stevenson Expressway)
Proceed east to the end of I-55 to North Lake Shore Drive. Continue north (towards downtown) on Lake Shore Drive to Balbo Street. Turn left on Balbo to State Street; turn right on State Street. Continue one block. University Center will be on your right between Harrison Street and Congress Parkway.
From the South (I-57 to I-94 Dan Ryan Expressway)
Exit at Congress Parkway. Drive east towards downtown to State Street. Turn right on State Street. University Center will be on your left between Congress Parkway and Harrison Street.
From the North (I-90/94 Kennedy/Edens Expressway)
Exit at Congress Parkway. Drive east towards downtown to State Street. Turn right on State Street. University Center will be on your left between Congress Parkway and Harrison Street.
From the West (I-290 Eisenhower Expressway)
I-290 turns into Congress Parkway at it nears downtown. Continue driving east to State Street. Turn right on State Street. University Center will be on your left between Congress Parkway and Harrison Street.

Kevin has been involved with social media for 6 years. In his current position as director of advertising & promotions, he is responsible for developing and executing integrated media and promotions strategies for Roosevelt University. He has successfully implemented SMS and Quick Response (QR) technologies to launch lead generation programs that merge mobile interactivity with targeted direct mail, engaging digital and traditional advertising. He also teaches social media marketing in Roosevelt’s graduate Integrated Marketing Communications program and Columbia College’s undergraduate PR Studies department. In his past role as senior associate with O’Malley Hansen, Kevin led broadcast and social media strategies for major brands, including Sara Lee, Earthgrains and Hanesbrands. Kevin earned a bachelors of arts in international studies with a focus in public relations and French from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Adelita has been involved in outreach for 5 years. In her current position, she is responsible for the reverse mass notification system which is used to contact residents and businesses in case of emergencies and for community updates via several paths of delivery including SMS and text messaging as selected by the users. She also manages the social media outlets for the City. She was the in-house administrator for All Kids and collaborated on the launch of the HPRP program acting as a liaison between social service agencies and the City. She was also the lead case manager responsible for screening clients as needed.
Adelita currently is a Volunteer at Beth Emet Soup Kitchen and a Board Member for Evanston Coalition for Latino Resources. She earned BA in History & International Studies from Northwestern University.
Mitch has been involved with social media for 7 years and online businesses for over 11 years. In his current position, he is responsible for advising all facets of digital including Text Alerts and in-stadium SMS activation but also web, social media, social gaming, and mobile apps. Most recently Mitch was VP of Interactive at Café Media LLC (a Lifestyle Magazine targeting bi-cultural Latinos) where he was responsible for developing digital products, acquiring users, generating traffic, developing strategy and tactics for all social media platforms, and developing and evaluating business opportunities including mobile and SMS. Mitchell earned his MBA from the University of California Berkeley, Haas School of Business and his BA from Michigan State University, Eli Broad College of Business.
Lovette is a social media and web strategist, having launched AweLuv Consulting after years of doing fulltime social media work for nonprofit organizations. In her current position she helps her clients use and understand Facebook as well other social media outlets to help promote their organizations. Concurrently, she is the technology chair for the Chicago chapter of the New Leader's Council where she helps develop their Facebook page and uses other social media tools increase awareness. She also used her knowledge of Facebook and social media to found The Red Pump Project with Karyn Watkins - a nonprofit that raises awareness about the impact of HIV/AIDS on women and girls. Lovette holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois.
Joseph has been involved in social media for 2 years. In his current position, he is responsible for planning and execution of all social media initiatives at the John G. Shedd Aquarium. This includes long term planning and day to day content management and development for Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, YouTube, Flickr, and more. Joe utilizes Facebook at the Shedd Aquarium to connect with fans by sharing stories and photos, answering questions, playing games, and most importantly creating new advocates for the aquarium. He earned a Bachelors of Science in Radio/Television/Film from Northwestern University. Previously to employment at Shedd Aquarium Joseph worked on media planning at Starcom Worldwide for such companies as Heinz, Luxottica, Western Union and Allstate.
Beth has been involved in marketing for the last 7 years. In her current position she is responsible for training non-profit and cause-centric organizations to utilize Facebook and other social media to further their purposes and maximize their success. In her previous position as Executive Pastor of Development for Victory Fellowship Church in Nashville, TN, she was responsible for managing Facebook pages for several companies and successful social media advertising campaigns. She is currently a member of Junior League where she serves as a volunteer for many organizations and programs around South Bend, IN. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Jacksonville State University.
Gabriela has been involved in marketing and new media for 5 years. In her current position, she is responsible for managing and producing all content for the Festival's social media outlets including Facebook and Twitter. Gabriela curates multimedia content from the Festival's extensive library of past Festival lectures for the Facebook audience. She works with the CHF Web Team to maximize Festival content from www.chicagohumanities.org for social media sharing. She earned a BA in International Relations from Tufts University. Gabriela is currently a member of the national Emerging Leaders Council of Americans for the Arts, the country’s leading arts advocacy organization. She formerly served as chair of the Council’s Technology Committee.
Gordon has been involved in digital marketing for more than 10 years. In his current position, he manages the analytics for Erikson's Facebook page, helping to craft targeted social media strategies. With its page Erikson targets not only students and alumni, but also the wider community of interest around early childhood.
Previously, as the Electronic Communications Specialist at the MacArthur Foundation, Gordon implemented the Facebook Platform on MacArthur's website.
After graduating with a BA in psychology from Brown University, Gordon came to digital marketing during his many years on the road promoting his rock band in the internet's blooming adolescence.
Douglas has been involved in social media for 15 years. In his current position, he is responsible for managing the strategy and tactics for three distinct Twitter accounts at DePaul, along with the overall social integration into Career and Money Management. He also consults extensively with other organizations regarding social media strategy, including setting up and providing tactical support for Twitter accounts that range topically from non-profit organizations to indie film productions, to commercial products. Along with this he personally manages six distinct Twitter accounts of his own tied to various interests from blogging to parenting, to interfaith activism. His formal training comes from digital storytelling and film production and he has been working in media, marketing, and technology in the higher education industry for over fifteen years. Doug is a member of the Chicago chapter of Social Media Club and participates in the hashtag communities #dadstalking, #workwednesday, #usguys, #asd, #smcedu, and #interfaith.
Jackie has been involved in communications, marketing and development for 10 years. In her current position, she is responsible for marketing and communications to advance the Red Cross mission, as well as building community, developing brand ambassadors, crowd sourcing, and mobilizing people through social media platforms, such as Twitter and Facebook. Previously, as Sr. Manager at Baxter International, Jackie was the strategic lead for marketing and communications efforts for the global Renal business. Before that, she worked as Director of Communications and Government Relations at Advocate Health Care where she was responsible for communications and advocacy for Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital and ultimately, communications at the headquarters. Jackie currently serves on the Advanced Public Affairs Team for American Red Cross. She earned BA in English from North Central College.
Monique has been involved in digital media for 15 years. In her current position, she is responsible for using Twitter to connect with members, promote CAP events, engage attendees at CAP events and communicate the CAP brand to the public and other clinicians.
Previously, as Owner/Social Strategist at Sparkle Internet Image Solutions, Monique was responsible for strategy development and management of multiple Twitter accounts for clients across industries such hospitality, healthcare, service providers and others.
Monique earned a Bachelors degree in Business from Colorado Technical University, and is a member of American Marketing Association.
Monique is a blogger for Digital Pivot - a new and digital media blog. She serves as the Director of Communications for the American Marketing Association, Chicago Chapter. She is also co-host of the Internet broadcasted radio show titled “New Media Radio” that airs on the 28th of every month discussing tips, tools and all things new media.
Hope has been involved in direct / interactive marketing for 15 years and has been recognized as Chicago’s top 25 Most Influential Women in Social Media. Most recently she’s become well versed with Social Media, drawing hundreds of people to Windy City Social and Kenmore Live Studio events using Facebook, Twitter, viral videos and by creating strategic alliances with brands such as Whole Foods and Broadway in Chicago. Previously, as the Interactive / Direct Marketer at Several Fortune 500 companies such as General Electric, Discover Card and Sears Holdings, Hope was responsible for creating winning email, telemarketing and direct mail campaigns. Hope currently serves as Social Media Buzz Team for American Marketing Association. She earned Masters in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University and a BA in Communications Studies from University of Iowa. She is a member of The Chicago American Marketing Association, the Chicago Interactive Marketing Association and Social Media Club Chicago.
Mana has been involved in digital marketing for 8 years. In her current position, Mana helps businesses and organizations build their brands and make valuable connections through Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn as well as other new media networks. Mana developed a widely-used Twitter and Facebook training program to help businesses and organizations establish a daily social media management routine. Recently Mana offered Twitter 101 classes to 20 Episcopal Ministries in the Chicago area. She earned two BA's in Journalism & Political Science from American University in Bulgaria and an MA in Mass Communication from Brigham Young University. She is a member of Local First Chicago, a contributing writer for the Twitter Tips digital publication Twittip.com and a social media expert contributor on Focus.com.
Jay has been involved in media research for 5 years. In his current position, he uses Twitter to promote Cision's products, events and thought leadership materials such as white papers, webinars and blog posts. He has also used Twitter to develop relationships with journalists and online influencers. He has spoken on social media strategy at various conferences and his articles on using Twitter for engagement and measurement have been published in PR Week, PR News, SocialTimes.com, MarketingProfs.com and SocialMediaToday.com. He earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Kansas.
Lisa has been involved in communications and marketing for six years. In her current position, Lisa oversees content on the organization's YouTube channel, edits and co-produces video content for YouTube, attracts videographers to donate pro-bono work, and creates distribution plans for the video content. To date, the Little City YouTube channel has generated 4,234 channel views
and 10,137 upload views. Previously, as Communications Director at the International Engineering Consortium, Lisa was resonsible for creating and collecting industry content for video production on an online portal with a reach of 700,000 professionals around the globe. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Master of Arts in Communications (with a specialization in PR) from Rowan University. She is a member of Public Relations Society of America and the Publicity Club of Chicago.
Tony has been involved in video production for 15 years. In his current position with T60 Productions, he is responsible for maintaining all of the company's YouTube accounts. T60's total YouTube upload views are over 13,600 per month, which does not include the tens of thousands of views accumulated at its clients' YouTube channels. Previously, as a TV news reporter at various network affiliates, Tony was responsible for reporting news, sports and features. During his 9-year reporting career, Tony won 3 Emmy Awards and 5 Associated Press awards. He earned BA in Broadcast Journalism from University of Southern California.
Demetrio has been involved in communications for 11 years. In his current position, he is responsible for developing and implementing the organization's online communications strategy including developing media content and managing the organization's channel on Youtube. Before that, he worked as Communications Specialist at The American Friends Service Committee Chicago where he was responsible for developing and implementing the organization's overall communications plan, buildinging relations with the media and the public, managing the production of marketing materials, and organized public events. He earned B.A in Multimedia & Web Development from Illinois Institute of Art Chicago and he is the Host and Producer of Chicago is the World on WHPK 88.5 FM, Guest Editor of Youth Media Reporter, Editorial Core member of AREA Chicago Magazine, member of the Technology and Communications Committee at the Community Renewal Society, and Co-Convenor of NetTuesday Chicago.
Dana has been involved in marketing and social media for over 6 years. In her current position at Little City Foundation, she is responsible for devising new media fundraising strategies to integrate online and offline marketing channels with the organization’s YouTube channel. Dana produces and distributes compelling video content telling stories from families and individuals assisted by Little City. She directs donors and potential supporters to the organization’s YouTube channel through direct mail, email marketing, printed material and conversations on Facebook and other social media outlets. She earned a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications summa cum laude from Roosevelt University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is a member of the Chicago Association of Direct Marketing, American Marketing Association, Young Nonprofit Professionals Network and Little City's Young Professionals Group.
Maryilene has been involved in non-profit and small business development for 15 years. In her current position, she is responsible for the oversight of all social media and blogging content as well as developing internal program initiatives that increase traffic to blogging sites. She has worked with multiple non-profits and start-up companies helping to determine the value and viabililty of corporate, personal, organizational and political blogging. She is also a widely published freelance writer in publications as diverse as The Chicago Tribune, Healthy Dining Magazine, The Daily Herald, American Suzuki Journal, Today's Chicago Woman and web content developement writing. She uses her expertise to help individuals and companies create relevant, timely and engaging content. Her previous experience working with NBC & ABC News gives her a unique edge for identifying tracking trends and how breaking news can help shape successful blogs. She earned a B.S. in Journalism from SMU, Dallas, Texas. She is a member of the EXECUTIVE'S CLUB, GNMAA (Greater North Michigan Avenue Association), CWIP (Chicago Women In Publishing), IFT (Institute of Food Technologists).
Tony has been involved in social media for seven years. In his current position, he is responsible for advising companies and non-profits on how to leverage social media tools, specifically blogs, to maximize impact. Previously, as Founder at Savvy Daddy, Tony was responsible for launching a blog and social media community for dads whose kids rock their worlds. Savvy Daddy is now the largest dad community on facebook, with almost 8,000 fans. Before that, he worked as Founder and Blogger-in-Chief at Hospital Impact where he was responsible for launching a hospital industry blog, recruiting 3 hospital CEO bloggers, and producing 800+ articles. The blog grew to a prominent network of industry insiders, and was eventually acquired by a prominent publisher. He earned an MBA in marketing and strategy from the Kellogg School of Management and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University.
Sherrin has been involved with social media and blogging for six years. In her current position, she is responsible for developing the strategy, mechanics, metrics and rules of engagement for all social media and blogging campaigns. Sherrin currently maintains over 50 blogs, most of which are ranked on page one or two of Google for their targeted search terms. She currently serves as a founding board member for The Foundation for Real Nutrition and Sustainable Living and The Each One Coach One Foundation. She is also an Advisory Board member of the African American Leadership Roundtable and a member of the Executive Committee for the Dupage County Chapter of the NAACP. Sherrin earned a bachelors degree in Economics from Whittier College and a law degree from The University of Iowa, and is the author of "Successful Strategic Planning" and "Wealth Mentality.".
Veronica has been involved in blogging for over 10 years. Veronica currently serves as Board member for Women in Media & News and as Advisory Board member of Bitch Media. Simultaneously, she is a professional consultant responsible for consulting non-profits and individuals about blogging and its benefits to their organization. Previously, as a board member of the Chicago Abortion Fund, Veronica launched their group blog, My Voice My Choice, as well as CAF's Facebook presence. She has contributed to many blogs over the years such as Kenneth Cole's Awareness blog, and continues to write for blogs such as Chicagonista. Veronica earned a MPA in Public Administration from UIC and a BS in Biological Sciences from UIC. She is a member of Association of Women Journalists - Chicago chapter.
Keidra has been involved in social media for five years. Currently, she serves as Web Analyst at Alzheimer's Association. Before that, she worked as Emerging Media Specialist at DePaul University where she was responsible for web and social media analytics strategy for online/offline campaigns, and creator of DePaul Demon Tracks blog. She earned a BA in Communications from Beloit College and a MA in Journalism from University of Wisconsin - Madison. In 2009, she was a recipient of Community Renewal Society's 35 Leaders Under 35, which honors individuals who work in nonprofit fields.
Our unique one-on-one mentoring sessions offer you the opportunity to sit down with an experienced fundraising professional for 30 minutes to discuss any questions
that are specific to your organization. Mentoring sessions cover the same topics as the seminars, and we will assign you a mentor based on his/her availability at your requested times.

Previously, as Public Relations Associate at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center, Paula was responsible for event management, spokesperson during crisis communication, and more. She currently serves as committee member of the Bids for Kids auction for Little Friends. She earned a Bachelor’s in English from Governors State University. She is a member of West Suburban Philanthropic Network, League of American Communications Professionals, eWomenNetwork, and American Society on Aging. She is the recipient of 15 awards, including the 2010 LACP Platinum Spotlight Award. In 2010, she received the certificate of ethics in social media from WOMMA.
